Pre-K Technology Applications

Pre-K Technology Applications TEKS provide a foundation of skills for operating the technology that will be provided throughout a students educational journey. Students learn to launch and shutdown software programs; use and identify various input devices; use technology terms; and are exposed to a variety of multimedia software and programs to enhance their learning experiences. Skills learned in Pre-K are meant to serve as the foundation for further development. Students will continue to grow in technology as they progress from grade level to grade level.

Assessments

I found that both assessments were instrumental in illustrating many of the skills that I did not know. The Technology inventory, introduced me to some terms that I was not familiar with. Prior to this survey I was confident that I was proficient in technology, but the results of my survey did not support that. My weakest area was problem solving using different types of software, so the best way to improve this is by taking more professional development.

The SETDA survey primarily focusded on the level of technology in the school. The survey was asking for imput on how technology was used in your classroom, and how technology was used in the building. One of it's main focuses was how was the technology used to implement and assess instruction. This survey was kind of similar to the star chart survey that most teachers are required to fill out during the course of the year.
