Assessments

I found that both assessments were instrumental in illustrating many of the skills that I did not know. The Technology inventory, introduced me to some terms that I was not familiar with. Prior to this survey I was confident that I was proficient in technology, but the results of my survey did not support that. My weakest area was problem solving using different types of software, so the best way to improve this is by taking more professional development.

The SETDA survey primarily focusded on the level of technology in the school. The survey was asking for imput on how technology was used in your classroom, and how technology was used in the building. One of it's main focuses was how was the technology used to implement and assess instruction. This survey was kind of similar to the star chart survey that most teachers are required to fill out during the course of the year.

  1. It's so funny that you say that you felt that you were proficient in technology. I too thought I could basically do anything on a computer, in fact, I am one of the few that people go to for help on campus. Boy was I wrong. There is a whole new world when it comes to technology. It is sad to think that if we as teachers are unaware of the many possibilities, who is teaching our students what they need to learn.
